DJ Tiesto “Tijs Michiel Verwest “, currently known as Tiësto is a DJ and producer born in Breda (Netherlands) on January 17, 1969. From the age of 8 he began to be interested in music, at 14 he started DJing at school parties and from 1985 to 1994 he worked as a DJ at nightclubs in Holland.
During the beginning of his artistic career, most of the time Dj Tiësto played Gabber and dance (electronic dance music) in the Spock, a small club in his hometown where he worked from Dawn to Dawn. Their first singles, among these “Vogues”, emerged.
Dj Tiësto began, from that moment, to ascend as the foam, and in 1997 in partnership with Arnie Pink founded the record label Black Hole Recordings, a company that appears as a producer of “in Search of Sunrise” and “Magik Muzik”. Later, between 1999 and 2000 he worked with the renowned DJ and music producer Trance Ferry Stena, with whom he promoted a version of “Silence” for the Canadian music band Delerium, next to Sara McLachlan.
Dj Tiësto launched in 2001 his first album as a soloist titled “In My Memory”, which greatly boosted his artistic career. He even became the first Dj to perform live during a Olympics at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games Athens 2004, the year he launched “Just Be.”
Dj Tiësto’s artistic career
It is possible to say that 2004 marked a before and after in the artistic career Dj Tiësto, in fact it was the year that it made a tour of 12 months throughout Latin America to promote the launching of “in Search of Sunrise 3: Panama”. Then, “in Search of Sunrise 4: Latin America” (2005), a compilation of the concerts performed in Latin America appeared.
Later, it aired “Perfect Remix Vol. 3”, where Dj Tiësto included mixes created in its beginnings. In the framework of this launch was held “Tiësto in Concert”, a tour of the United States in which he performed for 16000 spectators in Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. During the same tour, Dj Tiësto appeared at the New Year’s concert in Las Vegas, where the tickets were quickly exhausted.
Later, in 2007 Dj Tiësto made the second largest concert in history before 250000 people in Ipanema (Brazil). In the middle of the following year, Armani Exchange sponsored “In Search of Sunrise Summer Tour 2008”, which served as the basis for the upcoming three-CD compilation “In Search of Sunrise 7: Asia”.
Then, in October 2009 Dj Tiësto edited “Kaleidoscope”, a record production with which he experienced different musical genres and was ranked in the top 10 of the list in itunes. In 2010, the Dutch Dj announces its separation from Black Hole recordings and simultaneously, it began “with New Dawn”, a compilation with Musical Freedom, its own label. Then “Club Life: Volume One (las Vegas)” appears in 2011.
Dj Tiesto Today
At the beginning of 2012, he became the first world-class Dj to launch a Live Stream event, together with Twitter, Intel and HP. In addition, the artistic career of Dj Tiësto has continued to rise, even was catalogued by Forbes Magazine as the best paid in the world with €18 million annuals. Also, in the list published by Dj Magazine that year, he ranked as the second electronic music artist in a list of 100 competitors.
Later, in 2013 it descended to the 5th position, which has maintained until the last edition of the Top 100 of the magazine DJ magazine, published on November 7, 2017. However, Dj Tiësto has managed to position himself in the minds of millions of listeners worldwide, due to his tour of the five continents and his performances at the world’s largest festivals, becoming an ambassador of electronic music.
The upcoming Dj Tiesto concerts are scheduled for Saturday February 17th at Hakkasan Las Vegas Night Club (Nevada) on Sunday, February 18 at Frequency 2018 (Edmoton, Canada) and on Saturday February 24th at EDC Mexico (Mexico City).
