Sonar is an electronic music festival that takes place in July in Spain, specifically in Barcelona, since 1994. It is known as a meeting place to stay up to date in the genre of dance music, meet new artists, enjoy the most veteran artists and learn from their different activities, this has become one of the most World-wide highlights.
Sonar was created by journalist Richard Robles along with musicians Sergi Caballero and Enric Palau. Its main headquarters has always been Barcelona, the locations range from the Museum of Contemporary Art to its current point in Plaza D’Espanya; Likewise, it has become the scene of great artists like Skrillex, Diplo and Matthew Herbert.
Sonar divides its functions into two modalities: “Sonar by day”, outdoor concerts, and “Sonar by Night”, an event held in various nightclubs.
