Katy Perry is a singer-songwriter from California, United States. Her real name is Katheryn Hudson and her musical career began at the age of seven influenced by Christianity, her parents were believers and only allowed her to listen to Christian music. Likewise, from the age of 9 to 15 she was a chorus girl in a church in California. Later she was sent to Tennessee to improve her vocal skills, signed with the Red Hill Records label and released her first album called “Katy Hudson“, this contained evangelical music and did not achieve more than 200 copies sold.
In 2008 Katy Perry partnered with Capitol Records and began work on her second album “One of the Boys“, which included songs such as “Hot N´Cold” and “I Kissed a Girl“, which placed her at the top of the Billboards Hot 100 list. Additionally, she won the Brit Awards for Best International Female Artist and was nominated for Best Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008.
Katy Perry participated in 2017 in the production of “Feels” with Calvin Harris, Pharrael Williams and Big Sean; likewise, in 2016 she performed “Candy” with David Guetta. He recently completed his Witness Tour in New Zealand, this musical tour began in Canada in September 2017.
